You have the right to appeal an interlock violation

The request for an administrative hearing must be received by the Office of Hearings and Administrative Oversight within 14 days of the effective date of the reinstatement.


Failure of filing an appeal within the required time

If you miss the 14-day window, or elect not to appeal the reinstatement, you will be eligible for an OHAO hearing one year after the date of your last appeal hearing


You are responsible for all interlock violations

If you get a violation on the interlock

If you get a violation (missed test, alcohol reading, power loss), you must get independent testing immediately: A breath test (PBT) from police within one hour, or an ETG lab confirmed test within 24 hours. This proof of sobriety will be required at any interlock violation hearing.
